Recalibrate Your Goals: A Soulful Message for the Heart of Summer

The Earth never rushes through her seasons.

She moves in rhythm, trusting each cycle.

Summer invites us to do the same.

As we settle into the heart of summer in the Northern Hemisphere, the sun stands high in the sky, illuminating everything it touches. The days are long, the evenings linger, and nature reminds us that abundance is created through rhythm rather than force. Summer is not simply a season of doing. It is a season of recalibrating.

The energetic landscape is shifting with the Full Moon and Mercury Retrograde happening on June 29. Many of us may feel emotionally tender, mentally scattered, or uncertain about what comes next. Also, the planet Jupiter transitions from the emotional waters of Cancer into the expressive fire of Leo on June 30. Meanwhile Mars and Uranus stir movement in Gemini, there is a sense that life is changing direction. Rather than pushing harder, this moment invites us to slow our pace, reconnect with what truly matters, and allow ourselves to settle into the natural rhythm of the season.

Summer naturally encourages us to slow down and spend time with friends and family, enjoy afternoons near lakes and rivers, evening walks beneath the stars, weddings, celebrations, music, romance, and quiet moments watching the sunset – all become medicine for the soul. There is wisdom in allowing ourselves to enjoy life without feeling the need to constantly rush towards achievement.

A Tarot Message for the Collective

To honor this full moon and mercury retrograde period, I pulled cards for the collective. The cards that emerged carry a message of balance, patience, and long term growth. The Justice card crowns the reading with a central theme of rebalance, supported by The Sun, the Seven of Pentacles, and the Queen of Pentacles. Together they encourage us to step back and evaluate where our time, energy, and resources are being invested. This is a wonderful period to reassess career goals, finances, health, and daily routines while making thoughtful adjustments that will support lasting stability.

Justice reminds us that life naturally seeks equilibrium. After months of intense planetary movement and readjustment, this card suggests that balance is being restored both internally and externally. For some, this may also coincide with favorable financial payouts over the next few weeks. This could be in any form receiving money that has been delayed, a raise, bonus, grant, reimbursement, or the resolution of financial matters all look favorable with the Justice and Sun cards. The Seven of Pentacles reinforces the importance of thoughtful planning rather than rushing ahead, while the Queen of Pentacles encourages creating a life that feels nourishing peaceful, grounded, and abundant. The Sun, an appropriate reminder this summer season, is that the greatest success comes from investing in the people, projects, and dreams that genuinely bring joy and allow our authentic gifts to flourish.

This is not a season to force outcomes. It is a season to pause and celebrate all that is working in harmony, make small adjustments, and trust that the seeds planted earlier in the year are continuing to grow beneath the surface.

Take some time during the Full Moon on June 29 to release and gently prune away what is no longer serving you, allowing your energy and focus to cultivate something truly remarkable and deeply aligned with your greater purpose in the months ahead.

Following the Rhythm of Summer

From both a shamanic perspective and the wisdom of Traditional Chinese Medicine, summer is the season of the Fire Element and the Heart. It is a time for joy, laughter, celebration, creativity, and connection. The longer days invite us outdoors, but nature also teaches us to honor balance by rising early, resting during the hottest part of the afternoon, and gathering again in the cool evening. Cooling foods such as watermelon, cucumbers, and hibiscus tea help replenish fluids and minerals while supporting the body’s natural rhythms during the heat of summer.

Lately, I have found myself returning to my drum. In many shamanic traditions, the drum represents the heartbeat of the Earth, inviting us to synchronize with a rhythm that is older than ourselves. Its steady pulse can also evoke the memory of our earliest experience of rhythm in the womb, where we were held and comforted by the constant beat of our mother’s heart. There is something deeply primal about that connection. A steady drumbeat has a remarkable way of calming the nervous system, reducing stress, and helping the body settle into a more restorative state. As the rhythm gradually increases, it can also support deeper meditation, shamanic journeying, and healing.

One practice that has become especially meaningful for me is drumming in gratitude. Whenever I receive payment from a client, complete a meaningful stage of a project, or notice life moving with greater ease in the direction of my intentions, I dance with my drum and offer thanks. I also reach for it after long hours of mental work when I need to leave my head and reconnect with my heart and move my body. Every rhythm brings me back into relationship with the Earth and my soul’s rhythm, reminding me that abundance grows most naturally from gratitude, presence, and joy.

What practices do you incorporate to reconnect to the Earth’s rhythm?

Whether your practice is drumming, walking in the woods, swimming, gardening, singing, or simply sitting quietly beneath the stars, I encourage you to make space this summer for whatever helps you reconnect with yourself and the beauty around you.

Twin Cities Local Summer Gatherings

If you are in the Twin Cities area, there are several opportunities this season to nourish your body, heart, and spirit. Check out the links below for more details.

These events offer a wonderful way to slow down, restore balance, and reconnect with yourself through movement, breath, sound, and community. See you there!

For those who joined the 2026 Vision Board Workshop, this is also a wonderful time to reconnect with your board, now that we’re in the height of summer and halfway through the year. Look at the upper middle quadrant, which represents summer and your reputation in the world. Notice what intentions have already begun to blossom over the past six months. You may find that more has manifested than you first realized. Take a few moments to journal on ways you can refocus your energy towards manifesting your intentions and goals for the next six months. Drop me a message to share your accomplishments so far – I love to celebrate each and every win and manifested goal. And let me know if there have been any surprises along the way!

As always, I am here to support you at any season through Tarot and Astrology readings, Reiki and Shamanic healing sessions. This is an especially meaningful time to book a Jupiter Astrology and Tarot reading as Jupiter begins its journey into Leo, opening a new chapter of creativity, confidence, visibility, and personal growth this next year.

May this season help you recalibrate and remember that true abundance is not found by doing more. It is found by living in harmony with the rhythms of the Earth, the wisdom of your heart, and the quiet knowing of your own soul.
