The Spring Equinox is nearly upon us, and astrologically, this month brings about more change than usual. March happens during the astrological sign of Pisces, which is the last zodiac sign, represented by two fish – one light, one dark – swimming in cyclic fashion. Pisces is known for its dualistic, emotional mutability, and it allows for deep reflection, release, and subconscious dream-work. This period marks the last month of winter (in the Northern Hemisphere), providing a space to dream-up new, heartfelt aspirations, that can be executed in the coming Spring season.
There are several planetary shifts happening this March, which will have significant, global affects, for decades to come. On March 7, the full moon in Virgo (Pisces’ opposite sign), paired up with Saturn moving into Pisces. Saturn will stay in Pisces until 2026, bringing structure, order, and disciplined focus to the watery sign of Pisces. Those born between 1993 and 1996 are experiencing their first Saturn returns, which happens approximately every 27-30 years. Experiencing a Saturn returns for the first time, can be like a right-of-passage, going from childhood to full-adulthood. For me personally, it felt like the low-hanging clouds were lifted, and life became clearer – mentally and emotionally – as I entered my 30’s. Saturn returns brings upon challenge and it commands attention in the areas of the zodiac sign and house it transits. This transit can be mild or severe, depending on your astrological chart placements. Regardless on whether you’re experiencing a Saturn returns or not, generally, Saturn moving into the sign of Pisces brings attention and inspired, practical action to manifest dreams. Also, it may bring more compassion and humility into the world and with each other. As an aside, be careful while walking and accidents and health related to your feet, as Pisces rules over the feet and Saturn is associated with the body’s bones and structural systems.
The second, significant planetary shift happening this month is from Pluto. Being the outer most planet of our solar system, it rules over Scorpio, and brings about deep and lasting transformation. Pluto’s transit is much slower compared to other planets, because its large orbit, impacting generational and global change. On March 23, Pluto changes from being in the sign of Capricorn, to the sign of Aquarius. The last time Pluto changed signs was in 2008! Reflect on how Pluto in Capricorn impacted and transformed your life, since 2008. Those who lived through the 2008 “Great Recession” and the massive housing bubble burst, significantly impacted global economies and banking, which may have ultimately given rise to cryptocurrency, among other break-downs and changes in our financial systems. Pluto moves into the sign of Aquarius on March 23, and it will stay in Aquarius until 2044. That’s a long time! Some of the attributes Pluto may spark while it transits through Aquarius could lead to scientific and humanitarian reform, at a global scale, over the next 20 years. Not to make any predictions, however, but innovations that haven’t been conceived yet, are bound to take form now, that could ultimately transform our lives, much like the internet, smartphones, and social media have.
I encourage you to spend time within these last weeks of Pisces and the winter season, to dream up a new vision for yourself and the world, that can harness these powerful, planetary transits that are occurring this month. Because these transits will have lasting affects for years to come. Or at the very least, allow yourself to sleep in a little longer, and get a foot massage. No pressure!
Keep on Dancing!
