Eclipses happen about every 6 months in the lunar and solar cycle. This new moon happening April 30, 2022 will be the first eclipse of 2022, and it is also the second new moon occurring in April. Eclipses are potent events that put more emphasis and tone into the starry mix. The prominent astrological aspects occurring with this new moon, may feel a bit heavy. For starters, Saturn, the planet that rules time and structure, is currently in Aquarius and squaring the north-south nodal axis in Taurus and Scorpio. This aspect can feel very weighty – both from a practical and emotional/spiritual standpoint. Adding to this, on April 29, Pluto, the planet of transformation is going retrograde in the sign of Capricorn. This is a time to go inward – reexamine your life purpose and goals and uncover hidden aspects of yourself that may be old, out-dated, and ready to leave behind. Pluto retrograde in Capricorn supports a reemergence of a newer and more truer version of yourself that you’re ready to show to the greater community. For some, this might actually mean coming-out-of the closet, per se, on any matter of self expression and authenticity, and mostly to declare hidden traits of yourself to a wider audience. Most of the planets right now are in water and earth signs, which can make everything feel heavy and muddy. Although mud can be difficult to build upon or move through because it’s sticky and lacks form, mud is great for planting seeds of intention for future hopes and dreams. This is fertile time, don’t try to rush it, the mud and Taurus won’t allow it. Taurus is the gardener, the one who prepares the soil and sews the seeds, so this new moon is very supportive for sewing new moon wishes, with a more potent energy that will last for the next 6 months because of the eclipse. Be gentle, have patience with yourself during this new moon, because the energy will be picking up in May. So enjoy this time to go inward. Cheers!
